Update 14.05.2026:

The original model fits a thread diameter of approx 157mm on the tank with a thread pitch of 7mm (tank opening of approx 140mm)

Due to the circumstances and initial lack of knowledge about common IBC opening cross-sections, I am adding a commercially available size

Since my tank has a rather rare intermediate size, I am adding the models for a DN150 (coarse thread S165x7)

I have only adapted the flange and the union nut. The other parts are unchanged and fit with it

I have no way to test the printed model. The model was designed according to a drawing template

Initially only available as a download in .stl format. A print profile will follow

Please measure beforehand and comment if further adjustments are necessary

Have fun

This is a water inlet (top opening) and overflow for a 1000l IBC container

A suitable connection for the top opening will be designed in the future. Currently, there is simply a large opening to the filter to hang a pipe into it. I also want to develop a type of self-actuating flap that only opens when water is supplied and is otherwise closed. This could prevent a mosquito infestation

It is designed in multiple parts so that the union nut can be slid over the flange and then the branch (inlet/outlet) is screwed onto the flange

All threads should work without post-processing

A one-piece model (Print in Place) is already in progress

For sealing the clamping surfaces, there are two gaskets that must be printed from TPU (shown in red)

The sieve can currently be simply hooked in from above and is not further secured

A DN90 HT pipe can be connected to the DN90 “drain” to divert excess water

Have fun

can you create a version with two outlets (multiple connection to a gutter)

I can do that You just need to describe more precisely what you need

I have uploaded an stl model with two DN90 connectors. If you use the connectors as an inlet, you do not have the intended filter. In my case, the rainwater flows in from the top and the overflow/drain is on the side

Hi, I first tried it with the threaded adapter, and unfortunately, it doesn't fit my IBC either. It seems like the lid is a few millimeters too small in diameter. The pitch seems to be the same at 7mm. Were you able to screw the lid on easily? With a lot of force, I can manage about 1-2 turns. My IBC is from Mauser

no, the cover fits quite loosely on the tank for me I will create and upload the S165x7 coarse thread, maybe that will help many people. it should then fit the standard DN150 connections

I think the S165x7 will be the right one. What thread size is it currently on your model? Can I simply scale it up

Hmm I don't know I measured it with a caliper back then and hacked it into CAD I would have to measure it again in the model but the change to s165x7 should be quick maybe I'll get around to it later

Screw connection does not fit. Wrong thread. Model unusable

won't the cover fit? There are many different IBC containers... probably a different manufacturer. I can adapt the cover if you tell me the diameters and thread pitch

Hi. love the design but I can't find the DN150 stl file. when I press the download and open the files the measurements on that file is bit too small. glad if you could link to the right stl file. thanks!

Hi! Thanks. There is a screenshot attached. I framed the the files for the DN150. If those ones don't work for you, let me know what exactly doesn't work for you(overall diamete, thread diameter,... )

Great thought out design, it is fully my fault for thinking they would be the same thread pattern (6" or approx 150-160mm in the US) and that the "I" in IBC was for "international" and not intermediate. Would like it if an alternate plate with the threaded parts could be uploaded as well, or if a clone of the threaded parts could be separated a the plate to make it easier to scale / thread myself. Either way good design, printed well with PETG / TPU. Cheers!
