Description
EDIT 2-26-26 files for spring tensioner and tensioner bogey wheel added. as well as pictures and amazon link to the springs i used. note the updated bogey wheel is only used for the two axles that the tensioner goes on.
track kit i designed for a Traxxas X-Maxx. currently everything is printed in PLA and is holding up surprisingly well. i do plan on trying to print the track links in TPU just to see if it's beneficial to do so but i have yet to encounter any weak points. i modeled the components to use as little supports as possible but a few still need them. the tolerances fit extremely well at least with my printer (flashforge AD5M .06 nozzle)
some of the features the track kit:
track frames house 47X35x7mm bearings and have a slotted tensioner for the rear bogey wheel. (when printing mirror one side to make a pair)
bogey wheels house 10x5x4mm bearings and use steal axles
drive axle and drive gear are printed separate for ease of printing (put a couple dabs of hot glue between them when assembling) and in case one wears out they are easily replaced.
track links get pinned together using 17G steel safety wire.
any and all feedback will be greatly appreciated. i do plan on making a spring tensioner and a couple other improvements so i will keep this page updated as best i can. i will be posting a youtube video with some running clips and assembling instructions shortly
