Technical Description of the 3D Printing Project

This project arose from the need to install a video projector at the head of the bed without making holes in the wall or permanent modifications to the room's structure. The support was designed specifically for tubular bunk beds, ensuring stable and secure attachment directly to the bed frame.

  • Non-slip TPU element, inserted in the contact areas with the bed tube, to increase friction, reduce vibrations and prevent accidental rotations or displacements ( TPU filament for Bambu Lab AMS )

The design has been optimized for FDM printing, with particular attention to:

  • ease of assembly
  • structural robustness
  • reduction in the use of supports
  • compatibility with common materials (PLA / PETG / ABS for the body, TPU for the non-slip insert)

 

Remote control holder features:

  • Custom-sized pocket: I created a rectangular container with 3mm walls. The internal measurements are 50x25mm, suitable for most remote controls, but you can modify them in the first lines of the code (tel_width and tel_depth).
  • Horizontal orientation: The clamp remains configured for a horizontal tube, with the remote control hanging vertically underneath it.
  • Bottom hole: I added a small central hole at the bottom of the pocket. This serves both to let out any dust and to help you push out the remote control from below if it gets stuck.
  • Clean junction: The stem always stops outside the clamp, leaving the tube hole free of obstructions.

A couple of tips:

  1. Measurements: Take a caliper and measure your remote control. If it's a very thin or very wide model, just change it by resizing [R] Bambu Studio
  2. Print:  I recommend printing it as it appears in vertical slicing with supports.
