Inspired by the front design of the "Hedwig Spreading Wings Wall Ornament" from the "TNC Harry Potter Series", I originally added back details, claw structure, and a base, creating a realistic style snowy owl model ornament sculpted and modeled in Blender

Currently available in 3 configurations

  1. Monochromatic multi-part configuration (recommended) Key parts are separated (eyeballs, beak), pupils can be hand-painted or printed with AMS (optional), feather color still needs to be hand-painted
  2. AMS Print in Place Eyeballs, pupils, and beak are printed together, feather color still needs to be hand-painted
  3. Giant multi-part version Wings and body are separated, suitable for printing larger sizes; the rest is consistent with the standard multi-part version

March 9, 2026 Updated the giant version, separating the wings and body. The total height is 265mm and can be further enlarged to 310mm (the biological size at this dimension is essentially the same as another work, "Perched Snowy Owl")

April 1, 2026 Added 5 new bases, replacing the bases in several configurations with the "basic wood grain base"

Printing & Filament Instructions

  1. All uploaded images are real photos The feather texture details of both versions of the bird's body need to be hand-painted (it also looks good unpainted)
  2. The multi-part print version is recommended After painting the eye sockets and pupils, stick a small amount of Blu Tack to the end of the eyeball and press it directly into place
  3. Recommended filament (default configuration) Main body (PLA Matte White), beak (PLA Black), eyeballs (PLA Silk Gold, if printing pupils with AMS, add PLA Black), base (PLA Wood)

Support Removal & Installation Instructions

  1. For surface quality, the default configuration adds unnecessary supports to the underside of the wings. To remove wing supports, cut them from the middle with pliers, then pull them out by applying vertical force
  2. Carefully remove the supports for the bird's claws; do not cut the claws. Since the claws are vertically supported, once partially removed, you can apply vertical force to pull out the entire support
  3. The claws can be directly snapped into the base. The default configuration's center of gravity allows the snowy owl to stand upright, but it is still recommended to stick a small amount of Blu Tack to the bottom of the claws to prevent tipping

Coloring & Usage Tips

  1. For animals, the most important part is the eyes. It is recommended to print with silk gold material
    1. For the monochromatic hand-painted version, the eyeball's print direction has been fine-tuned to reduce the impact of layer lines on paint bleed, but it is still recommended to print multiple eyeballs in case of painting errors
    2. An AMS Print in Place version of the eyeball is also provided separately. It eliminates the need for detailed eye painting and worry about errors, but the effect is not as refined as hand-painting
  2. The feather texture itself does not need to be overly detailed. Hand-painting is not difficult, and you can use your imagination
    1. For coloring, it is recommended to use an acrylic fine-tip pen with low water content for dot painting
    2. It is recommended to use multiple colors to enhance the sense of depth
  3. It is recommended to place it above your monitor, letting Hedwig gaze at you while you work 😄
