Description

A clearer way for crews to identify firing modules in the field is to add channel numbers directly to the outside of the Packout, so I designed clip‑in markers specifically for the Milwaukee system. They snap into place on the exterior, making it easy to spot the correct module without opening the lid or relying on the backlight of the Cobra units. We use Packouts for our Cobra 18M and 36M modules, and these tags solve a problem that kept coming up: crews either asked for an external label or improvised with masking tape across the top.

Why these channel markers help

  • Instant identification — Crews can see channel numbers from a distance, which matters when you’re scanning a field for a specific module or directing someone to it.
  • No need to open the case — The clear lid helps when the backlight is on, but in bright daylight or from far away, external markers are faster.
  • Cleaner and more durable than tape — No more masking‑tape labels that peel, gum up the cover, or need to be removed every show.
  • Purpose‑built fit — Designed to clip securely into the Packout system without modifying the case.

Field-use considerations

  • These markers reduce setup time when modules are spread across a site.
  • They help avoid mix‑ups during setup, especially with large channel counts.
  • They give crews a consistent, professional way to label equipment instead of relying on whatever tape or marker is available.
