Description

This 3D model is a direct-fit protective cover for the starter solenoid used in 2011–2016 Ford applications. It was modeled directly from an OEM Ford-installed starter to ensure accurate fitment and OEM-style coverage.

The cover snaps over the exposed battery stud to help prevent accidental shorts from tools or nearby grounded components during service as well as provide some level of weather protection to the exposed threads of the studs. Designed for a clean fit and reliable retention in a high-vibration engine bay environment.

Print Recommendation

Material: Bambu Lab PA6-GF (Nylon) strongly recommended

The starter is exposed to high heat and constant vibration. PA6 offers:

  • Excellent heat resistance
  • High impact strength
  • Superior fatigue durability
  • Better long-term performance than PLA, PETG, or ABS
  • Dry filament before printing and use an enclosure for best results.

If you choose to print this in PLA, PETG, or ABS and it softens, melts onto the terminal studs, or worse contributes to an electrical fire, consider this your warning. The OEM part was marked as PA66.
