A minimalist plant pot saucer featuring a clean, modern geometric pattern inspired by Japanese design aesthetics.

The planter does not sit flat on the tray. Instead, it rests on a raised contact pattern that creates a small air and water gap underneath. This helps keep the pot base out of standing water while still catching runoff, which can reduce the risk of root rot and other moisture-related plant problems.

Key features

- Raised contact pattern to lift the pot base and improve drainage behavior.
- Helps prevent the planter from sitting directly in collected water.
- Clean, modern Japanese-inspired geometric look that works well with many planter styles.
- Five size variants included on one model page.
- Each size was adjusted individually to keep the proportions and design visually balanced.
- No supports required.

Sizes / variants included

- 100 mm pot seat : 3 mm bottom thickness, approx. 2.5 mm wall thickness.
- 125 mm pot seat : 3 mm bottom thickness, approx. 2.6 mm wall thickness.
- 150 mm pot seat : 3 mm bottom thickness, approx. 2.8 mm wall thickness.
- 175 mm pot seat : 3 mm bottom thickness, approx. 3.0 mm wall thickness.
- 200 mm pot seat : 3.5 mm bottom thickness, approx. 3.2 mm wall thickness.

Printing

Test printed successfully in PETG with a 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layer height. PLA should also work well for indoor use, but PETG is recommended if the saucer may be exposed to water more frequently. Print flat on the build plate; supports are not needed.

Notes

Water capacity depends on your print tolerances and the pot geometry, but the design intent is functional: runoff collects below the lifted pot base instead of forcing the planter to sit directly in water.

If you want a tighter or looser fit, scale only in XY by a small amount (for example ±1–2%) rather than using uniform scaling.
