This socket box was precisely developed for the IKEA MITTZON desk system to safely and neatly integrate power strips directly at the workplace.

The model shown was successfully printed in PLA.

However, since the box is exposed to permanent mechanical stress (from plugging in and unplugging cables and weight) in daily use, I recommend using PETG for maximum durability.

PETG is tougher than PLA and offers the necessary strength to withstand this constant stress long-term.

The set consists of two parts:

The main holder, which securely encloses the box.

A precisely fitting insert (spacer) that is pushed under the socket box at the end.

The advantage: Thanks to the insert, the socket does not sit too deep, but is exactly flush with the upper edge of the holder.

Printing Notes

Support Structures: For a successful print, the use of support (support structures) is absolutely necessary (at least for the main holder).

Walls: I recommend at least 3 to 4 wall lines to strengthen the stability of the mounting points.

Infill: An infill of 15% - 20%
