Boost Me (for free)
Boosting helps me work on more diverse and varied projects that everyone benefit from! I do 3D stuff and programming, and I always release everything under open-source licenses such as CC and the GPL. I truly believe that information, software and culture should be freely available to anyone.
A grip for the Nokia N-Gage QD (QD), based on the DualSense PS5 controller, which I find very comfortable to hold. It provides access to the power button, the cart slot and leaves an opening for the speaker.
The QD is held in place by friction, and slides in from the top. The opening provides a snug and secure fit as long as your printer tolerances are dialled in correctly. If you're having problems, you can try to scale the model up or down in your slicer by some minuscule amount (e.g. 0.5-1%) to achieve a better fit. The rubberised edge around the QD helps with holding it in place.
I printed with these settings:
- Seam position: Random
- Wall loops: 3
- Top/bottom shells: 2
- Infill: 10%, 3D honeycomb
- Supports: Tree Slim, on build plate only
A brim may be helpful if you have issues with adhesion; if you print it with the suggested orientation from the 3MF file (i.e. upside-down, the flat top on the build plate), not a lot of the model makes contact with the build plate and it leans quite a bit.
It takes about 1.5 hours to print on a Bambu Lab P1S.
