The Parameters Explained

You can adjust the design directly in the MakerWorld Parametric Designer without needing OpenSCAD knowledge:

• Mode (Standard Sizes): Quick selection for common sizes from M4 to M8
• Alternative Inner Diameter: Enter an exact value if the standard sizes do not fit (e.g. for pipe shafts or hinge pins)
• Outer Diameter: Determine the contact surface – from narrow rings to large body washers
• Thickness: Define the thickness to within 0.1 mm (important for adjusting door heights)

Applications

• Hinge Washers (Door Spacers): Is your door rubbing on the floor? Measure your hinge pin, print two rings of the appropriate thickness, and insert them to raise the door
• TPU Gaskets: Use flexible filament (TPU) to create custom flat gaskets for plumbing, water pumps, or housing covers
• Furniture & DIY: Protect delicate surfaces from screw heads cutting in
• Model Making: Create precise spacers for axles or motor mounts
• Vibration Dampers: Print thick discs from soft material to decouple vibrations between components

Printing Recommendations

• Material Selection:
  • PLA/PETG: For hard washers and hinge washers (door hinges)
  • TPU: For gaskets, anti-slip feet, or vibration-damping discs
• Stability: Print with 100% infill or a very high number of walls (6+) so that the disc does not yield under pressure
• Precision: A low layer height (e.g. 0.12mm) ensures a very exact thickness, which is particularly crucial for hinge washers
