Description

This bust represents Ernesto (Che) Guevara de la Serna, a central figure of the Cuban Revolution and a worldwide symbol of political resistance in the 20th century. It is inspired by the most famous photograph of the character, taken by Alberto Korda in 1960, which became one of the most reproduced images in history.

The straight and determined gaze conveys the revolutionary ideal and deep conviction that defined his life. The iconic star-beret reflects his internationalist commitment and his role in revolutionary movements across Latin America and beyond. The deliberately structured facial planes emphasize the instantly recognizable, iconic nature of his features.

Originally trained as a doctor, Che Guevara left behind a comfortable life to travel across South America, where he witnessed poverty and social injustice. This experience shaped his political ideology and led him to join Fidel Castro in the Cuban Revolution of 1959.
