Description
Replacement DeWalt 12V Battery Button / Lock
I needed a replacement button for my DeWalt 12V battery, so I designed this functional part from scratch! I’ve tested this specifically on the DCB120 battery, and it fits perfectly and functions just like the original. Please note that this will not fit the DCB122, but I will be working one one that will fit this model.
Print Settings & Tips:
- Orientation: I recommend printing this at an angle (reflected in the provided .3mf). This ensures the locking tab is printed across layers rather than with them, providing much better rigidity and preventing snaps.
- Supports: Required.
- Strength: I used 4 Wall Loops for extra durability.
- Infill: 15% Gyroid.
- Material: Printed in PLA Tough+ (Yellow). (Approx. 6.3g / 40 mins).
Material Note: Since batteries often live in hot garages or inside tool bags that get bumped around, you might mention that while PLA Tough+ worked for you, users in high-heat environments might consider PETG or ASA for better temperature resistance.
This was my first ever design project and it’s been incredibly rewarding to see it work. I hope this saves your battery too!
