Update 05/02/26:
Added a profile that has the RADOME attached to the top.
This 3D printed model is inspired by the legendary Lockheed U-2, also known as the “Dragon Lady” — one of the most iconic high-altitude reconnaissance aircraft ever built. First flown in 1955 and developed by Lockheed Skunk Works under the leadership of Kelly Johnson, the U-2 is capable of flying at altitudes above 70,000 feet, gathering critical intelligence for decades.
Huge thanks to the original designer, @Headshot_2002, for the awesome model. I took his design and remixed it to make it even easier to print — optimized to be completed in about 6 hours while keeping the iconic proportions and clean look of the aircraft.
Rather than printing the entire aircraft as one large piece with a ton of supports, this version has been split into six separate pieces. Each part prints cleanly without supports and snaps together using the included friction-fit connectors with no glue required. To make assembly even more reliable, additional larger connectors and even larger oversized connectors are included on separate plates in case your printer or filament runs slightly loose on tolerances. The result is a faster, cleaner print that’s easy to assemble and perfect for makers of all experience levels.
Print it, snap it together, and add a piece of aviation history to your collection.
