Description

Description

A 3D-printed triangular pill counter and sieve that combines two essential pharmacy functions into one compact device. Count pills quickly using the graduated channels, and separate mixed pills by size using the built-in sieve screen — all in a single print, no assembly required.

Designed with pharmacists, caregivers, and everyday users in mind, this tool makes medication management intuitive and accessible.

Key Features

  • Count & Separate in One Device — Graduated counting channels on one side, size-separating sieve on the other. No need for two separate tools.
  • Instant Visual Counting — Pills naturally line up in channels marked with numbers (5, 10, 15…up to 100+), so you can read the count at a glance without touching or re-counting.
  • Size-Based Separation — Mixed pills? Simply shake the tray and smaller pills fall through the sieve holes while larger ones stay on top. Great for sorting mixed or spilled medications.
  • Fully Parametric (Fusion 360) — The included .f3d file lets you customize channel width, sieve hole diameter, tray angle, and overall size to match your specific pill types and workflow.
  • 100% 3D Printed — No hardware, springs, or inserts needed. Print and use immediately.
  • For Everyone — Designed to be useful not only for pharmacists but also for patients, caregivers, and anyone managing multiple medications at home.

Print Settings

  • Material: PLA or PETG recommended (PETG for chemical resistance)
  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm
  • Infill: 15–20%
  • Supports: Not required
  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm standard

How to Customize

Open the .f3d file in Autodesk Fusion 360 and adjust the user parameters:

  • Channel width — match your pill diameter
  • Sieve hole size — set the cutoff between "small" and "large" pills
  • Overall tray dimensions — scale up or down as needed

Export as STL and slice as usual.

Tips

  • Wipe down with isopropyl alcohol before and between uses for hygiene.
  • PLA is fine for home use; consider PETG or food-safe filament for professional pharmacy settings.
  • The triangular form factor fits comfortably on a countertop and funnels pills naturally toward the counting channels.
