KallRax - 10" (inch) 7U Frame with Captive Nuts
Print Profile(2)

Bill of Materials
Description
This is a remix of the 10" 7U Rack Mount by Remus, but I have adapted it to better suit my needs, it's actually been completely re-modelled but is heavily influenced by the original.
The main alterations:
- Changing the heat-set inserts for standard M6 nuts which are captured in the frame itself. This is accomplished by pausing the print at 8.4mm height, inserting the nuts and continuing with the print. The nuts will then be permanently assembled into the frame, they will not be able to rotate or fall out of the back.
- I have also included a dovetail joint between the upper and lower sections for greater stability, these can be glued together but I have found that it's a strong joint without glue.
- A 5x50mm dowel can be fitted on the top and bottom where the two halves join (on the thin section) for added strength, depending on the profile (0.4mm or 0.6mm nozzle) you may have to drill the holes circular once printed.
There are four holes in the back flanges so that some 3.5mm wood screws can be used to fix the parts in place (I used 3.5 x 16mm CSK).
I used these nuts from Accu - M6 Hexagon Nuts (DIN 934) - Stainless Steel (A2)
I have printed this in PETG-HF for resistance to the heat generated by the hardware, I DO NOT recommend printing in PLA. For my own purposes I have printed using a 0.6mm nozzle and a 0.3mm layer height, for a combination of strength and speed. However, I have also uploaded a profile for a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. Whichever you choose make sure that the wall generator is set to Arachne to cover the nuts properly.
