P-51D5 large scale model 550mm wingspan

a p51d mustang with a wingspan of 550mm (~21.5inch) that i designed to be put on a stick and serve as a garden decoration and show the wind blowing by rotating the propeller. The propeller itself was scaled up a bit, for the motion to be more noticable.

if you're going to put it outside, print with a resistant material like ASA (what i printed mine out of) or PETG

the propeller was designed with very small ball bearings in mind, 6mm outer diameter and 3mm inner. Small bearings minimize friction. an M3 bolt is intended to secure the bearings to the plane and the propeller should be a friction fit onto the bearings. The hole in the propeller is supposed to be 6mm, but i drilled it out with a 6mm drill to get better accuracy.

 The hole to mount it to the stick is intended for bearings with a 16mm outer diameter, how to mount it is up to you to figure out.

if you have different bearings, i'd recommend going into blender and making the holes suit your needs.

(on the pictures wings are black and white because i ran out of white when printing)
