Description

Self-Watering Planter (Wicking System)

Keep your plants hydrated and happy with this sleek, 2-part self-watering planter. This design uses a wicking system to ensure your plant gets exactly the amount of water it needs, making it perfect for both beginners and busy plant parents.

How it works:

The planter consists of two main components:

  1. Top Section (White): This is where you plant your greenery.
  2. Bottom Reservoir (Red): The water storage base featuring a convenient side-spout for easy refilling.

Assembly & Setup:

  • The Wick: Thread a cotton or microfiber cord through the holes in the bottom of the white top section.
  • Planting: Place your plant directly into the top section with your preferred soil or substrate, ensuring the cord is well-embedded within the roots/soil.
  • The Reservoir: Fill the red bottom base with water through the side opening.
  • Action: The cord acts as a wick, drawing water up from the reservoir into the soil via capillary action. Your plant "drinks" whenever it’s thirsty!

Print Settings Recommendations:

  • Material: PLA (or PETG for better water resistance).
  • Walls: I recommend at least 3-4 wall loops to ensure the bottom reservoir is completely watertight.
  • Infill: 15% is sufficient.
