Show original

This is my reinterpretation of the famous Diana of Versailles, a Roman statue inspired by a Greek original dedicated to Artemis, now preserved in the Louvre.

The bust recaptures the elegance and poised tension of the goddess, with harmonious features and fluid drapery designed to enhance light and shadow in 3D printing. The volumes are balanced to ensure stability and scenic presence. Also check out Apollo and Artemis.

“Montium custos nemorumque virgo.”
— Ovid, Fasti III
("Virgin guardian of the mountains and woods.")

🏛️ Features

  • 3MF file ready for printing
  • Ultra-detailed and stable sculpture, ideal as a decorative or collectible piece
  • Supports already set where necessary
  • Optimized to maintain texture and depth even when scaled
  • Easily scalable from Bambu Studio or other slicers
  • Model designed as a solid bust, with a secure center of gravity and a clean silhouette

🛠️ Tips & Tricks (recommended print settings)

  • Always clean the build plate with IPA or soap and water before printing
  • Recommended layer height: 0.16 mm
    • superior quality on face surfaces and details
  • For optimal results: use adaptive layers in areas of greater complexity
  • Recommended supports: tree, gentle cold removal
  • Post-production:
    • light sanding on cut lines
    • primer spray for a “museum statue” effect
  • Also perfect for painting: dry-brush or acrylics highlight reliefs with great results

⚠️ Tips for Optimal Printing

To achieve the best result and avoid common FDM printing issues:

  • Ensure the build plate is perfectly clean (IPA or soap and water) to prevent part or support detachment.
  • Set correct temperatures for filament and build plate.
  • Remove supports gently, preferably using pliers or appropriate tools.
  • Small artifacts on overhangs can be normal in FDM printing: light sanding easily removes them.
  • Perform good flow calibration and use well-dried filament to ensure clean surfaces and defined details.

Proper printer preparation is essential to best showcase the model.
