🇫🇷 Description
This bust depicts Marco Polo, based on the most widely recognized historical portrait traditionally associated with him. The face is sculpted with strong volumes and clear planes: a forward gaze, calm yet determined expression, full beard, and the characteristic headwear of a 13th-century Venetian traveler.
The emphasis is placed on facial structure rather than surface detail to create a readable sculptural presence, well suited for a 3D printed bust interpretation.
The frontal pose and discreet base reinforce the classical approach: this is not an idealized portrait but a sculptural interpretation aiming to convey the character of the historical figure.
The figure
Marco Polo (1254-1324) was a Venetian merchant and explorer famous for traveling along the Silk Road to the court of Kublai Khan in China.
His account, The Travels of Marco Polo (Il Milione), became one of the most influential European sources describing medieval Asia. For centuries, his narratives inspired cartographers and explorers, shaping the imagination of the Age of Exploration.
This bust is inspired directly by the most iconic depiction of the traveler — the one that defined the collective image of Europe’s first great explorer of the East.

AI may be involved in certain stages of the creation process; however, all models are systematically corrected, optimized for 3D printing, and physically printed before being published.
