Description
Bring the mystery of Easter Island to your desk or tiki bar! This Moai head is a functional piece of art designed to hold a standard wine bottle LED "cork" lamp. By turning the iconic Pukao (topknot) into a light source, it creates a perfect ambient glow for any room.
As seen in the photos, the realistic finish is achieved with textured stone spray paint, which completely hides layer lines and gives the print an authentic, heavy feel.
Design Highlights
- 100% Support-Free: Optimized geometry—just slice and print. No tedious cleanup or wasted filament.
- No AMS Required: The dual-color look (body vs. topknot) is achieved with a simple filament change command in your slicer.
- Perfect Fit: The internal cavity is sized for common battery-operated LED bottle lights.
Printing & Finishing Tips
- Filament: Use any PLA (Black and White are shown).
- The Color Swap: Add a "Pause" or "Filament Change" at the specific layer where the topknot (Pukao) begins to get that distinctive two-tone Moai look.
- The Stone Effect: For the best results, use a textured stone spray paint (e.g., Rust-Oleum Stone). It’s the "secret sauce" that turns a 3D print into a high-end decor piece.
- Infill: 10-15% is plenty, as the stone paint adds some nice external rigidity.
Note: The custom lampshade pictured is not currently included. If you’d like the shade file, leave a comment and let me know!
