Description

Vixen-Style 44mm Square Project Plate - 150mm

IMPORTANT: This plate uses the Vixen-style dovetail standard (43.5mm width, 60 degrees angle). It is NOT compatible with standard Arca-Swiss (38mm) tripod heads.

Technical Specifications

Mounting Base: 43.5mm x 43.5mm (Square Dovetail)

Dovetail Angle: 60 degrees

Mounting Height: 9mm

Top Plate Dimensions: 150mm x 150mm

Plate Thickness: 5mm

Mounting Grid: 9-hole layout for hardware and electronic components.

I use this for tripod mounting RF projects. Using a tripod for electronics and radio projects offers several technical advantages:

Signal Elevation: Raising the antenna away from the ground minimizes signal absorption and interference from the earth.

Fresnel Zone Clearance: Provides the necessary height to clear the Fresnel zone, ensuring a better Line of Sight (LoS) for radio transmission.

Stability: Keeps the hardware fixed in a precise location for consistent testing and data collection.

Portability: The entire setup remains on the plate and can be quickly attached or detached from the tripod for field use.
