This bust represents Charles Pierre Baudelaire, inspired by the poet's most popular photograph, the one where his dark and penetrating gaze seems to both defy and judge the world. The expression is intentionally austere: broad forehead, gaunt features, closed mouth, an intense gaze slightly sunken beneath prominent brow ridges. The posture is upright, dignified, almost rigid — reflecting his lucid and critical mind.

The planes are strongly defined, with deeply sculpted facial lines emphasizing the under-eye shadows, forehead creases, and jawline tension. His slicked-back hair and carefully structured cravat enhance the severe elegance of the figure. The overall aim is to convey the poet's psychological depth rather than merely a physical resemblance.
