Description

Benito´s Chairs – As Close to the Original Album Models as Possible

UPDATE – 14.06.2026

I have added a new version of the model featuring significantly easier support removal and even higher print quality.

This redesign is also much easier to scale up or down while maintaining excellent printability.

In addition, I enhanced the chair cutout details and introduced a flat surface beneath the chair seating area. This prevents supports from attaching to rounded features, making post-processing cleaner and easier.

Additional adhesive feet have also been added to improve bed adhesion during printing. These feet can optionally be reused later for gluing the model to a surface, but they are thin enough to be removed easily after printing if not needed.

An additional print profile has also been uploaded.

After failing to find a model online that satisfied my OCD-level requirements — especially print quality and support removal — I decided to take matters into my own hands and create a version that stays as faithful as possible to the original designs from the album.

The problem with the model in general are the small walls so I had to change that somehow.

That left me with only one option: dive into Blender and learn how to fix it properly.

After extensive work in Blender, I finally transformed the model into something truly printable.

The result is what you see here :)

It’s easy to print and reasonably easy to remove supports without risking damage.

UPDATE 19.02.2025 MINI Print Profile:

After extensive testing, I found that simply downscaling the original model didn't yield the quality I wanted.

To get as close as possible to a good quality at a smaller scale, I went back to the beginning and rebuilt the geometry in Blender.

Improvements:

  • Reinforced Geometry: I thickened the structural elements to ensure the model remains stable during the print.
  • Easier Post-Processing: The thickened design allows for much easier support removal without the risk of snapping the legs or frame.
  • Perfect Scale: This model is exactly 50% the size of the original version

Below, you can see the evolution of the prototypes leading up to the final refined version in the front!

Fun Fact:

I was listening to the album while designing this ;)

Have fun printing and let me know how well it went!
