Please give me a boost if you find this model useful.
Celestron Origin diffuser cap that holds a flat field filter for generation of flats or a solar filter. The cap fits over the dew guard (light friction fit) and has a bayonet fitted retainer that screws over the end to hold a filter in place. Use this cap as a filter to generate flats when changing filters, camera sensor orientation, cleaning the lens etc. The stl and 3mf were generated by the included OpenSCAD file and fit the Origin nicely. The default parameters are to suit the Origin.
The included cap was generated to fit a filter made from draughting film, incorporating a 0.2mm gap for the filter/film. The OpenSCAD file is parametric and can be used to generate files to suit whatever telescope you like (probably) but keep the size of your print bed in mind. The gap for the filter is also a changeable parameter so you can change to suit tracing paper, 3D printed sheet, translucent acrylic etc.
You'll need to separate the cap and retainer after importing. I left the model vertically stacked to make resizing and visual checks easier.
The container I've included to protect the diffuser during storage is a screw-top, but doesn't really screw on very well. It will press fil nicely though.
I've included an .svg for import into laser cutting software. It will cut a filter that fits nicely in the cap.
I hope this is useful to the astrophotographers out there. Happy printing, and I hope you have clear skies.
