Description

About this remix of my version 1 Magnetic Headphone Holder:

After printing the first version of my headphone holder several times I've decided to tweak the 3d model to hopefully make it more printable.  I filled in some of the grid that had horizontal sections when printing on its side so that they no longer need support.  I did away with all the round overs on the outside edges as if they were against the build plate as the first few layers were trying to bridge too far out and could separate into strings.  I replaced them with chamfers that are more 3d printer friendly.  I even chamfered the tops and bottoms of the grid to try and reduce airflow restrictions a tiny bit more.  But the biggest change was adding a test part on plate 2 that allows you to print it to test the magnet pocket customizable parameters without having to print the entire model.

I am recommending printing the Headphone holder on its side.  I feel that printing it on its top results in the orientation of the layer lines running horizontal adding an unacceptably high probability of layer line separation where strength is needed most.  Printing on its side orients the layers so that the layers run from end to end on the holder providing much more strength.

And I should have stated in the original description that this print is too big for the A-1 mini.  All other Bambu printers should handle it just fine.

In the pictures I put the version 2 (red) side by side with a version 1 (green) to showcase the differences.  In one picture I am pushing down on the headphones, and in another I hang over 4.25 pounds (~1.9 kg) of canned goods from it.  If your headphones weigh more than that, I can't help you.

The following is an edited/updated version of the description from the first version since most of it is still relevant:

Neither my desk or my monitor were suitable for most of the headphone holder models on Maker World, so I designed my own.

If you have a handy metal surface (top of your computer case as an example) and need to hang some headphones, this one might suit you like it does me.  I used 6 12mm x 2mm magnets to try and minimize it sliding around when placing or removing the headphones.  The long flat arm provides a lot of support, i haven't had any issues with it trying to tip at all, however it can still slide around some if you push or pull it sideways, some grip tape on the underside might help that, but it doesn't bother me so I haven't bothered with it. I didn't put any magnets on the side as I have a glass front case, but it should be easy to remix and add those if you think it needs it.  I made the magnet hole dimensions (diameter and depth) as parameters in Fusion so I'm hoping when this uploads it will show the customization button so you can set the size for whatever magnets you have on hand.  The top is 8mm thick so keep that in mind when sizing the magnet holes.  I added the grid/grill cutouts on top as I have a water cooler radiator in the top of my case and didn't want to restrict air flow more than necessary.

I have successfully printed the original version in Bambu Labs PLA Basic, PLA Matte, PLA Silk+, PLA Translucent and PETG HF with only minor problems as stated above related to print orientation.  When printed on its side it prints very nicely.
