Description

A wine rack that goes where you go.

This organic, flowing 4-bottle wine rack doubles as a portable wine carrier. The integrated pull-out T-bar handle transforms it from a countertop display to a grab-and-go carrier in seconds — perfect for dinner parties, picnics, or the backyard.

Two Modes, One Print:

  • Wine Rack Mode — Bottles rest horizontally in stacked cradles. Compact countertop footprint, stable base, holds up to 4 standard bottles.
  • Carrier Mode — Pull the T-bar handle up and the rack becomes a portable carrier with bottles held upright securely. Carry all 4 bottles in one hand.

Key Features:

  • Dual-purpose design: countertop wine rack converts to portable carrier
  • 4-bottle capacity — fits standard 750ml wine bottles (Bordeaux, Burgundy, and Pinot Grigio profiles tested)
  • Organic sculptural aesthetic — looks like a premium home decor piece, not a typical 3D print
  • Integrated T-bar handle with cam-lock retention system
  • Stable wide base in rack mode, balanced weight distribution in carrier mode
  • Pocketed base and 2 pair of cams automatically adjust to keep various sized bottles from rattling around during transport.
  • Simple 2-pin assembly — only requires two short pieces of 1.75mm filament as cam pins

Assembly Instructions — Cam Lock Pins

The cams are retained by short pieces of standard 1.75mm filament pushed through the cam slots. Assembly takes about 2-3 minutes.

What You Need:

  • 1 piece of 1.75mm filament, approximately 100mm long (same filament you printed with works great)
  • Flush cutters (side cutters)

Steps:

1. Locate the cam slots. Look at the center column of the rack where the T-bar handle slides through. You'll see two small rectangular cam slots — one on each side of the column. Each slot has a small cam piece that pivots inside it.

2. Cut your filament. Cut a single piece of 1.75mm filament about 100mm (4 inches) long. This is intentionally longer than needed — the excess makes it easier to grip and push through. You'll trim it after.

3. Thread the filament through the frame to the first pair of cams. Insert one end of the filament into the cam slot opening. Push it through the two cam pin holes. The filament should slide through and poke out the other side.

4. Trim the excess. Using flush cutters, clip the filament as close to the surface as possible on both sides. You want it nearly flush with the outer wall.

5. Push the nub in. After cutting, use the flat side of your cutters or a fingernail to press the small remaining nub into the hole. This seats it flush so nothing snags or sticks out.

6. Repeat for the second pair of cams. Cut another piece of filament and repeat Steps 3–5 for the cam on the opposite side.

That's it. The cams can now retain the wine bottles from rattling when the T-bar handle is in carrier position.

Tip: If a cam feels stiff, gently work the T-bar handle up and down a few times. The cams will break in after a couple of cycles.

This isn't just another wine rack — pull the handle and it becomes a portable 4-bottle carrier. No screws, no magnets, just a clever cam-lock and a piece of filament. Boost if you like this functional design.
