Having seen a roller trainer that had a holder for tennis balls, I wanted to try this for my Life Fitness (Powered by ICG) IC7 spinning bike as well.

So I got out the 3D scanner, scanned the stand, and designed the stand to match. And yes, it actually feels “more real". I didn't notice any loss of stability during the session. However, the bike is significantly higher as a result - be careful when dismounting :)

However, I haven't tested hard intervals yet.

The plate accommodates two standard tennis balls (~64cm diameter) and provides the bike with light, controlled suspension. The result is a significantly more dynamic and “real” riding experience that is closer to outdoor movements than the rigid indoor setup.

The rear mounts are symmetrical, only the front ones are different for left and right.

Can be printed without supports. The tennis balls are not concerned with the appearance of their holes.

Features & Benefits

  • Compatible with LifeFitness IC7 – The geometry is precisely matched to the footprint of the IC7.
  • Integrated Tennis Ball Damping – Two tennis balls are positively inserted into the base plate and act as natural suspension.
  • Improved Riding Experience – The slight vertical and lateral flexibility simulates outdoor vibrations while simultaneously relieving stress on joints and back.
  • Stable, Robust Construction – The plate is designed to safely bear the load of the bike and distribute forces evenly.
  • Easy Installation – Place the bike, insert tennis balls, done. No modification to the device necessary.
  • can be used with only the front or only the rear mounts to make it even steeper or even back-friendly.
