Description

This is a truly spectacular vase. It takes a long time and uses a lot of material, but a print like this is worth it. Please post a make if you're successful.

This is a beautiful piece... but making it in it's current design and color would take very very long and there would be a lot of filament wastage. Filament usage is just under 1kg with almost a 50% wastage. Is it possible to provide the gold inlays as separate pieces (printed separately and then stuck on the vase) The vase can be designed to have recessed areas where these gold pieces would fit. This would mean printing it in 1/4th the time and using 1/3rd of the filament with no wastage. The reason I am making this request is because the owner/designer has made such a beautiful piece that I would really like to have... but in it's current form it makes it cost and time prohibitive. Please consider my request

If I knew what I was doing I'd offer to separate things for you. I have only designed geometrical pieces, one colour, industrial stuff. Is it harder to design things in multiple pieces instead of multiple colours?

Printed this on A1 Mini, reduced size to 170mm tall. Used 0.4mm nozzle, 0.16mm layer height and lowered outer wall print speed to 1400mm/s(2). Use Black PLA and Gold Silk PLA, with 157g to model and 315g to tower and flushed. Took 39 hours and 47 minutes to print but well worth it. Black flush is 87mm (works fine) but gold flush is 343mm (would probably cut down to 275mm or so after watching flush). Overall, a great print.

Great model - 22,5h print time in 4 colors PLA 0.2mm, added flowers on the surface matching the flowers in the vase, scaled to 420%(26.5cm) on a U1, zero waste (of course), total weight 445g, vase is waterproof

came out great using Glass Light Blue in the main extruder and Brass silk in the ext spool using the Bambu X2D.

A friend at work saw this and wanted one I was showing her things that I was going to do when I retired and asked for one. she absolutely loved it. I printed it a 1.6 layer height and it took a couple of days. I just did another at 2.8 and it came out perfect very nice and a lot less time. I used bambu blue and gold silk from Overture
