š The Story
Letās be honest. The only reason we get into Home Automation is because we really, really donāt want to leave the couch to turn on the fan or the lights.
I designed this box to house an ESP relay setup. Itās clean, itās minimal, and it hides the absolute mess of wires inside so your spouse/roommate doesn't think you're building a bomb. It features a USB-C cutout because itās [current year] and Micro-USB belongs in a museum. š¦
āļø How It Works (The Tech Stuff)
This bad boy is designed to hold your ESP microcontroller + Relay module. Once built, you have the ultimate power:
- Hey Google / Alexa: Fully compatible. Feel like a wizard commanding your house. š§āļø
- WiFi Control: The standard setup. Connects to your router, simple as pie.
- USB-C Power: Because we have standards.
š Choose Your Fighter: Connectivity Modes
Iāve designed this for two types of users:
1. The "I just want it to work" (WiFi Mode) š¶ Use standard WiFi. Connect it to google home or alexa.
2. The "Speed Demon" (ESP-NOW Mode) ā” For those who think WiFi adds too much latency (we see you, nerds). You can run this via ESP-NOW.
- ā ļø IMPORTANT: To use this mode, you need the ESP-NOW GATE (sold separately... just kidding, you just need to build/print the Gateway node).
- Why do this? Itās faster, uses less power, and doesn't clog up your router with 50 smart bulbs.
