Description

It's a PEX tube straightener.  It works by feeding the tubing through a series of rollers which apply pressure to counteract the memory of the coil.

You need

  • 10x 608 bearings, two for each roller (I used 608 2RS)
  • 8x M8x30 bolts, nuts and washers
  • 1x 2x4 lumber
  • clamps
  • Screws, i used #8 1-¼" screws with a big head

It was designed to be screwed into a 2x4 with the flat side of each plate flush with the edge of the wood.  Each roller was spaced 4" 100mm apart.  Feeding the PEX in can be difficult, I used a clamp to gently guide it into the next roller.  Each roller can adjusted by loosening the plate, adjusting the location of the plate, and retightening.  I found I needed to push the rollers together enough to slightly bend a ½" pex tube in order to get it to work on ¾" pex.  It doesn't get the ¾" pex dead straight but it's good enough to work for my purposes.  It takes the big box store 24" diameter rolls to like 6-8ft diameter or more.  The plates will break if you push the rollers in too much.
