May 2026 Winner: @Guillaume

Yes, the part about them being gluten-free is meant as a joke- although technically true! Please don't try to eat these!

I took a break from some of my practical prints to pursue a passion: spoiling my kids! I currently have two young “bakers” at home who are OBSESSED with pretending to bake cookies for everyone and anyone. Personally, I think the holidays are responsible for this. I decided to spend my free time trying to create some high-quality cookie replicas for my little bakers- and ones that looked good enough to eat.

I ended up spending a lot of time working on these: first, refining the actual models, and then probably the majority of the time tinkering with print settings. The end result is what you see pictured here. I highly encourage you to follow my recommended settings if you are looking for the same outcome, although I recognize some people will prefer speed over quality. I'm uploading several different print profiles to cover this range of preferences.

The profile I used in the main pictures, and the one I recommend as the best is the No AMS + High Detail. This is best suited for details (obviously that was my goal), and the time is halved compared to the AMS + High Detail version. It actually ends up looking a little better compared to the AMS version as the contouring at the top of the cookie is less noticeable due to the lack of chocolate chips when printing. Please make sure to read the individual profile details before printing, as I will try to list the settings/tradeoffs for each so they are well understood.

Please be mindful of choking hazards when considering this for your children. If you are printing parts separately, make sure you are using a superglue/adhesive/bonding agent that is approved for the type of plastic. I HIGHLY recommend printing the AMS (one piece) version if you think very young children (< 3 years old) may be playing with these prints in your household. The chocolate chips and M&Ms may present a choking hazard if not glued/adhered/bonded to the cookie base. This model is not intended for use in children under 3, nor should it be placed in the mouth by ANYONE.

Now with that out of the way, there is a change to the printer settings (layer height limits) that should be included with the print profiles. However, if you are using the Bambu Handy app, be warned that it will automatically change these back to the default printer values. I recommend everyone recheck these settings before printing, steps below:

  1. Open the file in Bambu Studio (desktop app).
  2. Go to the printer settings by clicking the button in the upper right corner of the printer icon.

  3. Click on the “Extruder” tab.
  4. Under “Layer heigh limits” change Min to 0.04mm and Max to 0.2mm

This will help with allowing the Fuzzy Skin setting low enough to really get that cookie dough texture on the base.

Finally, a couple of notes:

  1. My kids' hunger is insatiable. More cookie models will follow.
  2. Please leave a comment if you've tweaked settings in a way that you think improves any of the profiles and I will try them out!
  3. Looking to make things faster at the tradeoff of quality? Turn off these settings (in recommended order) to shave time off your print: variable layer height, Fuzzy Skin (set to none- you can revert the extruder settings to default values if you do this), Ironing.
  4. Check out the Bill of Materials for this model if you want links to which filaments I used in my pictures. I used exclusively PLA Matte.
  5. Double check the listed profile settings to make sure Bambu imported them correctly.
  6. I'm waiting on some backordered filament to arrive and then I will post a picture of the red velvet variant (dark red base + white chocolate chips).
