Description
This syringe filling station was designed so I could backfill 5 syringes quickly and easily. It holds 5 syringes and each slot is 8mm wide. The syringes that I designed this for are 1/2ml in capacity.
Why use this? There are four reasons why backfilling a syringe is advantageous.
- You can use a different needle to draw that has a thicker gauge, so it draws easier, especially helpful if you have an oil-based injectable. Once you backfill from the draw syringe to the injection syringe you will now have a fresh needle that remains sharp!
- You can fill multiple syringes at a time.
- You can use a syringe to inject that has a much smaller needle. In my case I usually use a 30 or 31 gauge.
- You can mix compounds in the same syringe, reducing the number of injections needed.
NOTE: After you load the station with syringes, and you pull the plungers out, be sure to set it down so the head of the plunger is NOT touching anything! The head of the plunger needs to remain suspended in the air since that will come in contact with the fluid that will be eventually injected. You can see in one of the pictures how the syringe plunger is sitting on a box I have made so it does not come in contact with anything.
