Jeep Badge Of Honor (JBOH) Display System
Print Profile(3)

Description
Introduction
Hi fellow Jeeper. If you've been traveling the country challenging your Jeep and yourself to achieve as many Badges of Honor as you can, you know finding a good looking and creative way to display them is also a challenge. I wanted something more than a boring grid plate that held a few badges, so I developed this JBOH display system. It allows for an unlimited number of badges and unlimited ways to personalize using grouping, text, color, and images. Wall mounts can be snapped in between badge mounts where ever desired and as many as needed. The wall mounts have caps that cover the screws to make them totally unseen. Snap in fillers can be used between badges to hide the wall behind. Both wall mount caps and fillers can be printed in a highlight color to give a pop of color amongst the badges. Let your imagination run wild and create a display that is unique and ever expandable.
Style
Badges are adhered to the badge mounts using the self adhesive that comes on the back of each badge. A badge mount alignment tool is provided. The badge mounts are held together using snap-in dog bone connectors. I recommend the dog bone connectors be printed in PETG or PCTG to give a bit more flexibility and toughness to the snap. The snap locations on the back of the mount are spaced to allow the badge mount to be connected in “block” style (rows and columns) or “brick” style (alternate rows overlapping by half). This allows a substantially different look between the two styles. However, the two styles can be blended back and forth by using half badge mounts.

Wall Mounts and Fillers
Note that the shape of the opening between badge mounts differs for the block and brick styles. The block style forms a diamond when four badge mounts are connected. The brick style forms a triangle when three mounts are connected. Wall mounts with counter bored screw holes are provided in both diamond and triangle shapes. Both wall mount styles have toppers that press into the counter bore to hide the screw. Wall mounts and fillers have a rib all around that snaps into a groove in the badge mounts. Wall mounts and fillers are installed from the front surface by slightly flexing the badge mounts held together by the dog bone connectors. Toppers for wall mounts can be printed in black or a highlight color depending on the desired look. Fillers can be printed with black on one side and the highlight color on the other to allow an assembly time choice of color. After toppers are installed on the wall mounts, the wall mount positions are indistinguishable from the fillers. Since the diamond shape for the block style is larger than the triangle wall mounts for the brick style, the screw sizes are different.

Grouping
Badge mounts may be assembled into one large group or you may want to have separate groups of badges by region, state, or special place (like Moab).
.
Labels
Labels allow unlimited personalization to your JBOH display. Labels are a 1mm thick printed plate that covers a single badge mount or multiple badge mounts. Labels are printed on a separate plate rather than on the badge mount directly to avoid using supports in the connector snaps on the back of the badge mounts when raised text is used. Flush text could be printed directly on the badge mount front (printed on the build plate). Label plates are to be glued to the front of badge mounts. I have created multiple shapes and sizes of the label plate as shown below. The multi mount labels can be glued to a matching set of assembled badge mounts or they can be glued to a dedicated multi mount. I understand the wording here can be a bit confusing, but I think the pics below will help explain.

Here are some examples of labels. Especially note the label with a printed picture on it. The picture was adhered to the label plate using glue dots.

Wrap Up
I am really looking forward to see all of your makes and hopefully pics of your creative JBOH display. I think one of the best features of this system is that it is ever expandable. So keep adventuring and go experience some new trails!
