Update 2026-03-19
- Added a new parameter to the customizable option to allow better clearance for the top glass, defaults to 0.4mm which has already increased by 0.2mm from the previous version.
- Added the 0.4mm clearance profiles, all other dimensions are kept the same.
- Added sealing foam cutting template for the rear rounded corners.
Update 2026-02-18
- Adjusted how the model is split up, but the dimensions and geometries stays the same, so no need to re-print if you're happy with the V1.
- Made this V2 version customizable, so you can adjust it to fit your setup.
- This also includes the dimensions of the magnet. Default size is 6x2mm round magents.

Overview
Both my H2D and H2C had the same issue: the PTFE tube from the toolhead rubs against the top glass.
Most riser solutions I found were either:
- Overly complicated
- Dependent on uncommon magnet sizes
- Or more complex than necessary
So I designed a simple, no-frills top glass riser for the H2 series.
This design focuses on:
- ✔ Simplicity
- ✔ Easy printing
- ✔ Commonly available magnets
Nothing fancy — just a clean, functional solution.
Design Features
- Split into sections to fit on standard build plates
- Simple connector pieces to join sections together
- Uses common 6×2 mm round magnets
- Designed specifically for H2D and H2C
Available Heights
- 20 mm
- 25 mm
- 30 mm
I personally use the 20 mm version, which gives the PTFE tube plenty of clearance above the glass with extra room to spare.
Note: There's now also the customize option if you need different heights.
Print Settings & Material
Material: ABS (recommended)
⚠️ Important — Calibrate for Shrinkage
This is a large part, and shrinkage matters.
With Bambu ABS, I measured a scaling factor of 99.3% (tested on both H2D and H2C). Your filament may shrink differently.
If you skip shrinkage calibration, the final assembly may end up undersized.
Required Hardware
Magnets
6 × 2 mm round magnets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096LYVGPS (These act as the glass detection magnets.)
Sealing Foam
To maintain a proper seal between the glass and riser, you’ll need foam tape.
I used: 50 mm × 1 mm sealing foam https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L6JYWN7
Cut as follows:
- 25 mm – sides
- 13 mm – front
- 28 mm – back
You only need two strips total using this layout.
Final Notes
This is intentionally a simple solution to a common annoyance.
If you just want your PTFE tube to stop rubbing the glass without redesigning half the printer — this should do the job.
