Description

Customizable Pipe / Tube (Single Sleeve) generates a hollow pipe with a single integrated sleeve, allowing pipe segments to slide into each other for modular extensions.

Depending on how you customize it, the model can be used as:

  • a modular pipe extension segment
  • a vacuum hose extension or adapter base
  • a plumbing or utility pipe prototype
  • a telescope tube or optical assembly part

The integrated sleeve provides a stable male–female style connection, helping keep segments aligned while extending the tube system.

Customizable parameters

  • Pipe length (excluding sleeve)
  • Outer diameter
  • Wall thickness
  • Sleeve insertion length
  • Clearance for fine-tuning fit

Standalone and modular use

This model works as:

  • a standalone tube segment, and
  • a modular extension element, where multiple segments slide into each other to create longer tubes.

It can be used independently for custom tubing and prototyping, or as part of a larger modular build.

For example, I used these pipes as part of my refractor telescope model design.

Printing notes

  • Designed for easy printing on common FDM printers
  • Suitable for PLA and PETG
  • Outer diameter and clearance can be adjusted to compensate for printer tolerances
  • Printing vertically is recommended for best roundness and sleeve fit. The model is rendered in the optimal printing orientation.
