Description

This is a simple, wall-mounted holder designed for multifold paper hand towels (e.g. Kleenex Multifold Hand Towels). I wanted something that looked clean in a bathroom while using as little filament as possible - other designs I have seen have thick walls that take a longer time to print and use excessive filament.

The body is designed with thin walls to keep material use down, and the lid sits on top rather than clipping in. The lid uses a hex grid pattern which reduces filament use, adds a bit of visual interest, and makes it easy to see when towels are running low.

It works well in bathrooms, powder rooms, laundries, workshops, or anywhere disposable hand towels make sense.

Mounting

  • Can be mounted with Command tape for a no-drill install
  • Or screwed directly into the wall for a more permanent setup

Print settings

  • Nozzle: 0.4 mm
  • Perimeters: 2
  • Infill: 10% support cubic
  • Layer height: 0.2 mm recommended
  • If printing with a 0.6 or 0.8 nozzle, can be printed with a single perimeter and an increased layer height

Supports

  • Can be printed in a single filament using
    • Tree supports (Supports on build plate only)
  • For the cleanest result, dual-material printing works well:
    • PETG supports for a PLA print
    • Or a dedicated support filament (e.g. Bambu Support for PLA)

Filament notes

For the best finish, filaments that hide layer lines work particularly well:

  • Marble PLA
  • Matte PLA

Neutral or stone-coloured filaments suit the design nicely, but the lid can also be printed in a contrasting colour if you want a bit more visual interest.
