Boost Me (for free)

Feel free to Boost if you like it. Thx!

This fully 3D printed cooler legitly holds a 6-pack of cans, as shown. It is full-scale-functional as a usable cooler! I basically maxed out my A1 printer, well I guess I could have gone 9 cans, but… who want's a 9-can cooler? Unless there was a 3-can version you'd have to go through (3) whole 12-packs before everything evened out, right? Kinda the hot-dog & bun pack thing… Sorry, my mind wanders sometimes.

Anyways, I know this large print size cuts away its printability on smaller printers, and I apologize. But if you want a cooler that fits a 6 pack (normal 12oz cans) then this is the print for you.

I printed mine from PETg and it came out great! Any other materials would probably be OK though. I'm guessing it's about as good as keeping cans cool as using a foam koozie based on some printed Koozie testing I've done previously.

It won't be as good at keeping things as cool as some of the higher end $$$ coolers, but the price is right for this one and it makes a great impact when people finally realize that it's a 3D print.

There are 3 parts needed to have a functional cooler:

Base

Lid

Handle

The optional parts:

Lettering

Divider

If you'd like to see some of the design and background of this cooler, check out the video below:

EOD, I felt I needed to design and print this. After printing I had a couple of afterthoughts on some features I could have included, and may include in the future. If you have suggestions I'm open to improvements.

Oh yeah, you might find this helpful. Here is the internal volume of the cooler for reference:

If you print it, let me know how it goes for you and how you like it. Be sure to post photo's of your make too, I'd love to see them!

Thanks for checking it out!

If you're looking for a taller cooler, I made another one that fits (6) x 16 ounce cans. You can check that one out here:

do you happen to have an email I could reach out to you with? my wife loves your cooler but wanted me to print it taller to fit skinny/tall cans. I changed the Z scale to 180mm. I then realized the handle wouldn’t work since the openings on the cooler for the handle are now sized up. i am hoping you could design a handle to fit the cooler? I would pay you for your time and effort! I tried scaling up the handle to the same ratio I did the cooler but my wife is saying handle isn’t locking in. thanks in advance! Jeff

Just to see what you were seeing, I tried to scale up the Z to 180mm (where the overall height of the cooler is 180mm from the bottom touching the build plate to the very top of one of the four nubs), and as I suspected the handle's hole becomes elongated as well. I'm not sure that it's a simple handle redesign at this point... If I get some time coming up here I'll try to make a taller version of the cooler's body that uses the same handles and lid. I wanted to make a taller version anyways... does that height (and volume) work for what you need? It sounds like you've already printed the body though, so I'm sorry for the filament waste there... but at least now you can check the fit with the cans you plan on putting in there. Let me know, and thanks for the request/suggestion. Honestly, I appreciate it too, I can see that you have some time and material committed and I'll try to get to posting something sometime relatively soon, I'm loaded up for the next few days but will do...

printed fantastic! Anyway to create inserts that can fit around the the cans thatcan be filled with water and frozen? I saw a version that had those but it was only for European cans.

That may require a slight redesign... there's not much room around the cans on this one for something like that. Although, I did just post a taller version of this, maybe an ice pack would fit on top of the cans on this one? https://makerworld.com/en/models/2802503-6-pack-x-16oz-cooler-six-pounder#profileId-3117748

Is it possible to scale it, suitable for 0.5 L can (168 mm height instead of 115 mm)?

Would this be able to print on Anycubic v2 3

It was pretty tight on an A1, which also has a 256x256 build plate. So I would say yes from looking of the specs on your machine. Good Luck.
