Description

Overview

This is a 3D-printable statue of St. Clare of Assisi, designed for home prayer spaces, shelves, desks, or quiet display areas. The model uses clean, print-friendly geometry to keep failures low and support removal predictable.

Many people keep a St. Clare statue in their home as a symbol of faith, simplicity, and calm strength—especially in spaces meant for reflection and peace.

I’m currently testing this model using marble PLA, which gives it a more stone-like appearance while still printing reliably on standard FDM machines.

History of the Object

St. Clare of Assisi (1194–1253) was a close follower of St. Francis of Assisi and the founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, later known as the Poor Clares. She chose a life of radical poverty, prayer, and devotion, emphasizing humility and trust over material security.

She is also traditionally associated with protection and spiritual clarity, and her life became an example of quiet resolve rather than outward power.

What People Traditionally Keep This Statue For

People commonly place a St. Clare of Assisi statue in their home for prayer or reflection related to:

  • Peace and protection within the home
  • Strength through simplicity and humility
  • Guidance during times of uncertainty or change
  • Trust in faith over material concerns
  • Encouragement toward a quieter, more intentional life

For many households, the statue represents calm conviction and inner strength rather than dramatic action.

Supports & Removal Notes

  • Fine details may include hands, facial features, veil, or robe folds
  • Supports may be required depending on orientation and slicer settings
  • Remove supports slowly and carefully, especially around the hands and face
  • Rushed support removal is the most common cause of broken details

Important Notes

  • Decorative and devotional use only
  • Not designed for functional, load-bearing, or outdoor use
  • Very small print scales increase fragility
  • Marble PLA may be slightly more brittle than standard PLA handle with care
