Danfoss Ally Replacement Ring – Saving Your Thermostat

When the original retaining ring on the Danfoss Ally breaks, a common problem arises: the thermostat itself is excellent, but without the ring, it no longer stays in place. As I couldn't find a perfectly functional model online, I took it upon myself to design this version from scratch.

Why This Design?

• With Gear Profile: My primary goal was to integrate the internal teeth. This is the only way to retain the mechanical adjustability, just like the original.
• Optimized Fit: I adjusted the dimensions so the ring fits precisely into the Ally housing, without binding or excessive play.
• Easy Repair: Instead of replacing the entire device, you can simply replace the defective part with this.

Print Recommendations

To ensure mechanical stress and heat from the radiator are not an issue:

• Material: PETG, ASA, or ABS are ideal. Printing with PLA is also possible, but is not strongly recommended due to heat generated by the radiator and the material's higher brittleness.
• Stability: 100% Infill is crucial here to ensure the small teeth remain stable and do not break off.
