The print profile came out great. First two pics are straight off the plate, no finishing. The layer lines are almost invisible in most places. Third pic shows the support interface surface is a little rough but this is completely expected, and not something you couldn't fix with some sanding. Filament is eSun matte PLA light khaki.

You might try variable layer height and lower speed just for the areas where support connects. And maybe a smaller support interface distance, they'd be harder to remove but I think the surface would need less sanding if you wanted it smooth. I'm going to put mine on a plaque on the wall so the rough part won't even be visible 😁

Dang, I printed this for my dad as a fathers day gift and I'm currently painting it. Wish I had done what you did! I was thinking of putting some sort of hanging hole into it before printing but I'm not skilled enough in any software so I just left it as is. Oh well, it'll still look good on the shelf!
