Description
This is an insert for use with the Harbor Freight Apache 1800 case to turn it into a repeater style meshtastic device.
I used this to secure the Meshtastic device and accessories into the inside of the case. This still allows the top half of the case to be used to store things such as your handheld Meshtastic devices.
You have to drill a couple holes in the box to pass the antenna and USB cord through if you want to use those. The cases are soft plastic and drill easily.
The bottom board press fit for me and did not need any adhesive to keep it in place.
Features:
- Mounting for Wisblock RAK 19007
- Slots for Bluetooth antenna, GPS module, 10,000mAh and 3,000mAh batteries for secure mounting
Parts used:
- Apache 1800 case found at Harbor Freight
- Wisblock RAK 19007 module with GPS
- MakerFocus 10,000mAh Battery (Optional 3,000mAh if you don't need it to last as long)
WARNING: TRIPLE CHECK THE WIRING OF THE BATTERIES AS THEY ARE OFTEN OPPOSITE OF THE RAKWIRELESS BOARD
Don't be like me and fry a board cause I didn't check - USB C Small Round Panel Mount Extension Cable (Found on Adafruit)
- N type female pigtail cable and ALFA 915 Antenna (Found on Amazon)
- 2 pin mini toggle switch (Found on Amazon)
- M3x20 Screws and Heat inserts to attach top plate to the base (Either MakerSupply or Amazon)
- M2.5x5 Screws and Heat inserts to attach RAK19007 to the base (Either MakerSupply or Amazon)
Have fun with it and let me know if it works for you.
