The HexaShelf is not just another hexagonal shelf. It is a fully parametric system that impresses with stability, flexibility, and clever details. Whether for Tonies, miniatures, or tools – you determine the dimensions.
✨ Features at a glance
- Fully Parametric: You can precisely adjust diameter, depth, and wall thickness to your needs via the Customizer.
- Intelligent Connection System: The elements are assembled with precise dovetail connectors. No glue residue, no wobbling.
- Magnet Option: Integrated pockets for magnets or washers (perfect for Tonies!). Includes custom-fit Magnet Covers to neatly embed and hide the magnets. The print profiles provide for discs with a maximum diameter of 22mm and a thickness of 2mm.
- Integrated Wall Mount: Optional, reinforced wall tabs with keyhole hangers for secure mounting.
- Backplate Variants: Choose between a solid backplate or a stylish honeycomb grid (waffle pattern) that saves material and looks cool.
- Disassembly Notches: Small, inconspicuous recesses allow the connectors to be released again if necessary, without damaging the model.
🛠 Printing Instructions & Important Note (Tolerances)
Before you fill your entire build plate with connectors, a quick test is crucial:
⚠️ IMPORTANT: First check the fit! Every printer and every filament works differently (Shrinkage/Elephant's foot). First print a single hexagon element and two connectors.
- Can they be pushed together with light pressure? Perfect.
- Are they too loose or too tight? Adjust the clearance value in the Customizer minimally (steps of 0.05mm work wonders).
🧩 The Components
- Hexagon: The main element.
- Connector: The double connector to couple two hexagons.
- Plug: A single end piece for unused slots (for a clean look).
- Backplate: The backplate (Solid or Grid).
- Magnet Cover: Protects and fixes magnets in the wall.
🔧 Customization (Customizer)
You can customize the model directly here on MakerWorld via the Customizer. The most important parameters are:
- hex_diameter: Size of the module (Flat-to-Flat).
- shelf_depth: How deep the shelf protrudes from the wall.
- enable_magnet_pocket: Activates the recess for round magnets/metal discs.
