Description

A small diorama inspired by the iconic Brazilian “orelhão” public phones from São Paulo. For decades they were a familiar part of the city’s streets, and as they are now being gradually removed, this piece works as a simple tribute to their presence and design.

Model scale: ~1:20 (based on ~2.20 m original height)
Model height: ~11 cm

Printing

  • Parts split across plates to improve print quality
  • Optimized to reduce filament usage and purge
  • Orientation, supports, and cuts already prepared
  • Supports are designed for easy removal; detach parts gently, pliers should not be necessary.
  • Printing without AMS is possible but may require manual filament swaps and can affect the floor pattern; all other parts print normally in single color.

🧩 Assembly (recommended)

  1. Handle parts gently during assembly to avoid stress or breakage
  2. Lightly sand contact areas for a better fit
  3. Apply a small amount of glue where needed
  4. Glue the pole to the base and let it dry fully
  5. Fix the shell onto the pole
  6. Place and glue the floor plate on the base
  7. Once the base is fully dry, shape the phone cable if needed. A quick, careful pass with a lighter can make the filament slightly more flexible
  8. Attach the phone unit to the shell (hot glue recommended for easier alignment)
