Compact Sanding Block – International Standards
Print Profile(4)

Description
After searching for the perfect sanding block without success, I decided to design my own. I wanted something compact, easy to print, and simple to assemble, specifically tailored for post-processing 3D prints or metalwork.
This design takes inspiration from several existing models but improves on the core mechanics to create a more reliable and user-friendly tool.
Two Dedicated Sizes
To ensure a perfect fit without the abrasive cloth sliding or overhanging, I have provided two specific versions:
- 25mm (The Global Standard): Optimized for international users. This version fits 1" (25.4mm) and 25mm rolls perfectly. This is the recommended size for most users worldwide.
- 23mm (The Biltema Edition): Specifically tailored for the Swedish/Nordic market to fit Biltema’s popular emery cloth rolls (art. 19-243/244/245).
Refined Design Features
- Dual-Drive Locking Screw: The top screw is oversized for a comfortable grip. If you need extra torque, I've integrated a top slot that fits a screwdriver, a coin, or a washer.
- Anti-Rotation Tensioning: The tensioning block features a custom chamfer on the screw shaft. This prevents the block from rotating when you turn the adjustment wheel, ensuring smooth, linear movement.
- Enhanced Grip: I've applied Fuzzy Skin to specific areas on the sides to ensure a rock-solid grip during long sanding sessions.
Multiple Print Options
I have uploaded two versions to suit your setup for both the 23mm and 25mm models:
- Single Color: A streamlined version for any standard printer.
- Dual Color (AMS): Pre-configured for multi-material printing (as seen in the photos) to make the adjustment wheels and grip surfaces pop.
Assembly & Usage
- Prepare the strip: Cut a piece of emery cloth or sandpaper to a length of 162.5 mm.
- Insert & Lock: Loosen the top thumb screw, tuck both ends of the strip into the slot, and tighten.
- Tension: Use the internal thumbwheel to push out the rear section until the strip is drum-tight.
