The Plasti-Craft is a fully 3D printable RC runabout inspired by classic wooden lake cruisers. The design blends scale looks with practical RC performance and straightforward assembly.
The hull is split into multiple print-friendly sections to fit standard build plates while maintaining strength and alignment. The deck features molded plank detailing for a realistic finish, and the cockpit includes scale seating, steering wheel, and windshield for display-quality appearance.

Printing Recommendations
- Printer Type: FDM
- Nozzle: 0.4mm recommended
- Layer Height: 0.20mm
- Walls: 2-3 walls recommended
- Infill: 20%
- Increase if running higher power setups

- PETG-CF for rudder

Assembly Notes
- Dry fit all hull sections before gluing
- Use CA glue, epoxy, or plastic weld depending on filament
- Use glazing / spot putty to smooth seams before paint
- Install heat set inserts where hardware will be removed frequently (middle deck cover, and swim deck)
- Balance boat after installing electronics and battery
Finishing
This boat can be finished multiple ways:
- Painted (recommended
- Wood-look filament + clear coat
- Sanded and clear coated for scale display finish
Interior and hardware can be customized for either realism or performance.
Notes
- Always water test before full-power runs
- Check cooling line flow before operation
- Recheck hull seal after first few runs
