Tuning ignition keys for Simsons! 

 

Available for:

The ignition keys have a slight interference fit (-0.1 mm) so that the key blade has a firm hold after pressing in (using a vice). If you want to be extra sure, you can also use superglue.

Pressing in with a hammer is only possible to a limited extent, as otherwise, the blade will widen when hammered.

 

 

 

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:

 

  1. Use the ignition key blade as shown in STEP or drawing.
  2. Draw a line at a height of 9 mm from the bottom (as far as the blade is pressed in)
  3. Position the blade straight in the slot with a light hammer tap.
  4. Clamp in a vice and carefully press in up to the marking on the blade. (Place cardboard on the visible side of the ignition key to avoid indentations)

     

    IMPORTANT: Do not press in too far, otherwise the material will bulge on the visible side!!!

~I have not tested whether an original ignition key blade or the blades available at Ostoase are suitable.

It is only important that the piece to be pressed in is 2 mm thick, 5 mm wide, and has a total length of at least 25 mm.

  • Use PETG
  • 0.2 mm layer height
  • 20% Gyroid infill
  • Use 3 walls
