Description

Need a replacement vent cover or a custom-sized air intake? 

This fully parametric OpenSCAD model allows you to generate a professional-grade vent grill in seconds. Whether you need a classic circular cover, blanking plug or a modern rectangular one with rounded corners, this model has you covered.

Features include multiple airflow patterns like Honeycomb, Slats (Louvers), solid and Grid, plus advanced mounting options including traditional screw holes or tool-less Press-fit friction wedges.

 

You can customize this model directly in the MakerWorld Customizer.

  • Shape: Toggle between Rectangle and Circle.
  • Dimensions: Enter the exact size of your wall hole (Insert Width/Height) and the desired outer frame size.
  • Corner Styling: Adjust Frame_Corner_Radius and Inner_Corner_Radius for a sleek, modern look.
  • Pattern: Choose your style and customize it! Honeycomb for strength, Slats for privacy/dust protection, or Circles for a classic look.
  • Mounting Option: Customizable screw holes or press-fit wedges.

Printing Recommendations

  • Material: * PLA: Good for indoor vents.
    • PETG/ASA: Recommended for outdoor use or vents near heat sources (radiators).
  • Orientation: The model is pre-oriented to lie flat on the build plate.
  • Walls/Infill: Use at least 3 walls for the pattern strength. 15-20% infill is sufficient for the frame.
  • Supports: Generally not required. Even the 45° slats are designed to print cleanly on most modern printers.

 

Please note: While the model is mathematically perfect, final dimensions may vary depending on your printer's calibration, slicer settings, and material properties (such as plastic shrinkage). It is recommended to perform a test print or adjust the dimensions slightly if you require a very high-precision fit for specific materials like ASA or ABS.
