ORBIT RingSync – Timing Game with ESP32, LED and Sound

ORBIT RingSync is a fast-paced arcade-style reaction and timing game built around three concentric LED rings. Your goal is simple — hit the button at the exact right moment — but the challenge ramps up quickly.

As you progress, the active ring changes, speeds increase, and mistakes will push you back. Reach the final ring and complete the last level to unlock a persistent finale animation, proving you’ve mastered the game.

Designed as a maker-friendly project, ORBIT RingSync with LED Rings & Sound combines:

  • ESP32 control
  • WS2812 LED rings
  • Sound effects (optional)
  • Relay output for escape room (optional)
  • A fully 3D-printable enclosure

Perfect as a desk game, competition challenge, or as a timing puzzle for an escape room

Gameplay Overview

  • Three LED rings act as progressive difficulty levels
  • A moving “cursor” spins around the active ring
  • Press the button exactly when the cursor hits the target
  • Correct timing advances you
  • Mistakes can push you back
  • Final level locks progression and triggers a looping victory animation
  • Completing activates relay output (optional)

Features

  • ESP32-based game logic
  • 3 independent LED rings (scalable in code)
  • Single-button control
  • Optional audio via DFPlayer Mini (user-customizable sounds)
  • Optional relay output for external triggers (escape room use)
  • Fully 3D-printable enclosure
  • Optional printed diffuser for softer LED appearance

Simple Rules

  1. Watch the moving light on the active ring
  2. Press the button when it aligns with the target
  3. Advance through all rings to win
  4. Miss the timing — and you may be pushed back
