Description

These bidirectional cam lock levers come in medium and light duty versions. Both provide approximately 2 mm of travel, and are designed around standard 1/4 inch nuts or bolts with nut and head edge to edge dimensions not larger than 7/16ths inch (11mm) and about 7/32nds inch thick - your standard hardware store sizes. These will work with or without the cupped washers.
 

Full bidirectional operation requires that the hold-down bolt not extend beyond the diameter of the nut post in order to swivel both ways. Either can be assembled with the bolt (instead of the nut) in the nut post if you wish, but if you do so be sure to remember to put the post and bolt assembly in place before joining the two sides of the lever. If you are just using the nut, that assembly can be slipped in afterwards.
 

These print in two halves and can be snapped together using a vice or a rubber mallet. This approach provides for optimum strength and faces the print plate side out for better appearance - perfect for that carbon-fiber build plate! I recommend against using glue when joining the lever halves as the squeeze-out could splatter and get messy. If the application calls for periodic removal of the lever, you may want to secure the nut or bolt in the nut post with epoxy or CA glue to hold them in place and make assembly less fiddly.
 

I use these for jigs and stops for my table saw and router table, but haven’t tried them for more demanding applications like work hold-downs so please use caution in such scenarios. Please let me know if you run into any issues, and feel free to submit a remix if you would like.
