Magnetic Cabinet Door Catch – 3D Printable Design
This magnetic cabinet door catch is a compact and practical solution designed for easy 3D printing and reliable door closing. The model is optimized for embedding magnets directly during the print, ensuring a clean finish and strong magnetic hold.
The design uses 10 mm × 5 mm cylindrical magnets, which are inserted mid-print for precise positioning and maximum strength.
3D Printing Instructions
- Print the model as provided.
- A pause is required at layer 26.
- When the print pauses, insert the 10 mm × 5 mm magnets into the dedicated slots.
- Resume printing to fully enclose the magnets inside the part.
Installation Instructions
- To mount the round magnetic counterpart, drill a hole with a diameter of 12 mm in the cabinet frame or door.
- Insert the round magnetic element into the drilled hole, use glue.
- Mount the printed catch in the desired position using two screws.
This design is ideal for cabinets, drawers, and lightweight doors, combining a minimal appearance with functional durability thanks to the embedded magnet system.
